What Amazon Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse are

Amazon Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse are two AI wearables that listen to the conversations you take part in and turn them into summaries, reminders and to-do lists. They are made by Bee, the AI device startup Amazon acquired in 2025: according to Engadget they are its first new products since joining Amazon.

  • Bee Frontier replaces the original Bee Pioneer. It is a small module worn on the wrist with a silicone band or clipped to clothing. It has dual microphones with noise filtering, IP67 dust and water resistance, up to 7 days of battery life and USB-C charging. Colors: Onyx, Lavender and Sage.
  • Bee Eclipse is the size of a credit card and attaches magnetically to the back of your phone. It has three microphones, per Engadget, and battery life Amazon rates at more than 21 days. Colors: Silver, Midnight, Honey and Blush.

Both have a single button to turn listening on and off and an indicator light that stays on while the device is summarizing a conversation. According to Amazon's official announcement, Frontier can also switch itself off after a set period of silence, such as 5 or 15 minutes.

How Bee works: summaries, reminders and integrations

Bee is not a voice recorder: it is an assistant that takes notes for you. After a meeting, a lecture or a phone call, the app shows a summary, the decisions made and the next steps. CBS News gives the example of a call to plan a trip: Bee summarizes flight times and hotel reservations.

The most useful features come from integrations:

  • Gmail, Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook: Bee can surface action items, draft a follow-up email or create a calendar invite.
  • Alexa+: you can ask an Echo device for your summaries and to-dos; the Echo recognizes your voice before answering.
  • Amazon.com: Bee can suggest products on the Amazon homepage and in the Bee apps based on what you talk about. This is opt-in.
  • Apple HealthKit and photos: can be connected to enrich your daily memories.

The launch also brought a new desktop app with summary templates for lectures, care plans after a doctor visit and brainstorming sessions, as TechCrunch reports.

How much Bee costs: prices and the Bee Pro plan

The device price is only part of the bill. Here is what Amazon announced:

ItemPriceWhat you get
Bee Frontier$74.99Available now on Amazon.com
Bee Eclipsefrom $99.99"Coming soon", no date
Free tier$0Summaries, recaps and 14 days of memory
Bee Pro$11.99 per monthUnlimited summaries, Alexa+, Amazon.com, third-party apps, suggested to-dos, daily memories, personal chat, templates and desktop app

New customers get 30 days of Bee Pro free. Over a year, device plus subscription comes to about $219 for Frontier (74.99 + 12 × 11.99). For owners of the original Bee Pioneer, founder Maria Zollo told Engadget that the current feature set stays free forever.

Privacy: does Bee record everything? What Amazon says

A device that listens to conversations raises an obvious question: who can hear what I say? Amazon's answer is a system it calls Bee Private Compute. According to the company:

  • no audio is stored: it is turned into text and insights in real time and then deleted;
  • transcripts are encrypted with keys your device creates and controls, and no one, Amazon included, can read them unless you share them;
  • you can delete transcripts and summaries at any time;
  • with Eclipse, call participants must grant permission each time a recording starts.

Engadget explains that the processing environment is built on the AWS Nitro System. These are, however, guarantees stated by the company: independent testing will show how well they hold up. One issue no encryption solves: the people around you did not choose to be listened to. If you use a device like this, always tell the people you are talking to, and check the privacy rules where you live. Bee vs Plaud and Pocket: price comparison

Bee enters a market already crowded with AI note-taking recorders. Amazon's edge is price: according to TechCrunch, Frontier costs less than half as much as the Plaud Note.

DeviceList price
Bee Frontier$74.99
Bee Eclipse$99.99
Pocket$129
Plaud Note$159
Plaud Note Pro$189

The comparison covers the hardware only: the other products also have paid plans for advanced features. What they lack is the link to Alexa+ and Amazon.com, which is Amazon's real goal: taking its AI assistant out of the home and into your workday. It is the same race toward personal assistants you see in new models such as Gemini 4 Argon and its Tasks mode.

Where can you buy it? What it means for you

For now Amazon Bee Frontier is sold only on Amazon.com, in US dollars. Neither Amazon's announcement nor the press coverage of the launch lists other stores, other currencies or a date for Europe. If you import it, factor in shipping and duties, and keep in mind that integrations like Alexa+ may not work the same way outside the United States.

If you create content, consult or work with clients, the idea behind Bee is useful even if you never buy one:

  1. Capture ideas, not just meetings. A spoken brainstorm, transcribed and summarized, becomes an outline for a video or a post.
  2. Turn calls into actions. After a client call, ask your AI for three things: decisions made, to-dos with deadlines, and a draft recap email.
  3. Always ask for consent. That goes for Bee and for any transcription app: your client's trust is worth more than a summary.

Want to go further? With an AI clone of yourself you can turn those notes into videos with your own face and voice. To learn it with a complete method there is The AI Creator System; and here is how we use artificial intelligence.
